Caring for Suede Leather

Suede has a soft, brushed texture, so it needs protection and regular brushing.

• Protect: before first wear, spray with ECCO Repel Water-Based Spray to help protect against rain and stains, so water beads straight off. Let it dry fully before wearing.
• Clean when dry: always clean suede when it's completely dry. Brush lightly in one direction with a Suede Brush, and rub out scuffs and shiny spots with a Suede Eraser.
• Be gentle: never scrub hard, as this can flatten or wear away the soft nap.
• Go easy on water: water can leave marks and stiffen suede. If your shoes get wet, blot with a clean towel, stuff with paper and let them dry naturally away from heat, then brush.
• Deeper clean: use ECCO Foam Cleaner sparingly, testing on a hidden area first, then air dry away from heat.
• Keep fresh: suede can absorb sweat and natural oils, which can sometimes leave an odour. Mist the inside with ECCO Refresh Spray after wear and let it dry overnight.
• Revive: refresh faded suede with ECCO Nubuck/Suede Conditioner – Transparent, or Black for dark shoes. When dry, brush the nap back up.
• Avoid: household cleaners, detergents, leather creams and polishes, and the washing machine.

Caring for Smooth Leather

Smooth leather stays supple and looks its best with a little regular care.

• Protect: before first wear, spray with ECCO Repel Water-Based Spray to help protect against rain and stains, so water beads straight off.
• Clean: wipe away dust and marks with a damp cloth or ECCO Shoe Wipes. For a deeper clean, use ECCO Foam Cleaner.
• Condition: every few weeks, apply ECCO Smooth Leather Care Cream to nourish the leather and soften light scuffs. For black shoes, use ECCO Smooth Leather Cream – Black.

Caring for Synthetic & Textile Uppers

Synthetic, mesh and textile uppers are easy to care for and can be spot cleaned as needed.

• Protect: before first wear, spray with ECCO Repel Water-Based Spray to help protect against rain and stains, so water beads straight off.
• Clean: brush off loose dirt, then wipe with a damp cloth or ECCO Super Shoe Wipes.
• Deeper clean: use ECCO Foam Cleaner, working it in gently with an Applicator Brush.
• Avoid: the washing machine and dryer. Laces can be washed separately. Always air dry in a cool, shaded spot.
